The University of Nairobi Tower, is a bold, innovative, sustainable building, which draws from the University’s Great Court’s strong Architectural heritage, fits into Nairobi’s urban context, harnesses its tropical location to design advantage, as it unapologetically explores, formal, material and technological innovations of the green future.

The North-South oriented double skin tower with solar chimneys, and the podium in which it sits, is conceived as a green building, incorporating natural ventilation, day lighting, room acoustic design, photovoltaic and bio-gas electricity generation, rainwater harvesting, grey-water recycling, design for good indoor air quality and resource conservation. The building will be subjected to existing green buildings rating system, e.g. LEED.
